A Chorister Parent's View

Serena joined St Mary's choir when she was 8 years old, as her music teacher at school suggested that she might enjoy it.  She is now almost 16 so has been a chorister for half her life!

It has done so much for her in terms of her musicality, the training of her singing voice and her discipline and understanding of commitment. The experiences the Choir has given her, from singing at historic York Minster and Winchester Cathedral, to visiting Cambridge University and learning about choral scholarship opportunities have been remarkable.

However, more importantly, she is surrounded by good friends, is inspired by wonderful teachers and mentors, and has great fun working within a supportive community each week.
