Services

The Choir sings two services each Sunday during Choir Term - Parish Eucharist and Choral Evensong - as well as special services for the major Church feasts and festivals. It is one of very few parish choirs in London to retain a chorister tradition with no adult sopranos, and one of an ever-decreasing group to sing Choral Evensong every week.

In addition, the Choir plays a key role in the local community, taking part in civic services such as that held to mark Remembrance Day.

For details of music to be sung at choral services, please see the Music Lists page.

Parish Eucharist

This is a Common Worship service held at 9.30am every Sunday, during which the Choir sings an anthem and leads a congregational setting of the Eucharist. On the third Sunday of each month it is an All-Age service, often incorporating baptisms.

Choral Evensong

Each Sunday the Choir sings a service of Choral Evensong, to the order of the Book of Common Prayer. Each week this includes:

  • a setting of the preces and responses
  • a psalm (Anglican chant)
  • a setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis
  • an anthem
  • three hymns
