Services

The Choir sing two services each Sunday during Choir Term - Parish Eucharist and Choral Evensong - as well as special services for the major Church feasts and festivals.

In addition, the Choir plays a key role in the local community, taking part in civic services such as that held to mark Remembrance Day.

For details of music to be sung at choral services, please see the Music Lists page.

Parish Eucharist

This is a Common Worship service held at 9.30am every Sunday, during which the Choir sings an anthem and leads the congregational setting of the Eucharist. On the first Sunday of each month it is an All-Age service beginning at 10.00am, often incorporating baptisms.

Choral Evensong

Each Sunday the Choir sings a service of Choral Evensong, to the order of the Book of Common Prayer. Each week this includes:

  • a setting of the preces and responses
  • a psalm (Anglican chant)
  • a setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis (chanted on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month)
  • an anthem
